If you aren’t 100% sure about divorcing, the idea of having any thoughts of “what if” and regrets can be daunting. Divorcing is a big decision that effects many people. It is a type of death. It is a death not just of what once was but also of your dreams and visions for that future. Before deciding on that path, if there is any part of you that still feels love and still has any energy to try, (and there isn’t any abuse), then I suggest trying something different and giving it your all so you can at least feel you tried everything. Peace of mind can be very helpful if you do choose to go forward with a divorce.

When the decision to divorce had been made, the next step is to deal with what is, in order to work on what will be. I help my clients “Future Focus” through creating a Deliberate Divorce. You need to be deliberate with the way you communicate with each other, with how you are going to move forward, with parenting if there are children, and so much more. I help my clients move forward towards creating the life they want rather than getting stuck driving in reverse looking through the cracked rearview mirror. Through helping you to strengthen your communication, you can learn to manage difficult conversations and complicated feelings. I want to help you have a positive “Fresh Start” and if you have children, help them have one too!
When there are children, you will always have an integral connection to each other for the rest of your lives. There can be graduations, weddings, holidays, grandchildren, and all of the celebrations with grandchildren, etc. It is imperative for your children’s well-being, as well as your own, that you are able to find a respectful rhythm and have productive communication. I help my clients differentiate their divorce from their life-long parenting together, and then learn how to focus on being the best parents for their children through modeling and working together.
